Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Lines build up quickly after school and in the evening, especially near colleges. Most of these businesses accept cards and mobile pay and skew younger in clientele and atmosphere.

Frisco is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Frisco is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I actually really love Maiko so much. Their matcha soft serve is probably the best soft serve Iβve ever had. Itβs creamy, smooth, and has a really good matcha flavor without being too sweet. I can honestly eat this anytime. My only complaint is the big hole inside the soft serve. π It looks so full from the outside, but once you start eating, thereβs a lot of empty space in the middle. I wish they would fill it a little better, especially for the price. Other than that, I still really love Maiko and would definitely come back. The soft serve is just too good.

This place is genuinely my favorite matcha spot in the area. Been here quite a few times for matcha and have tried a lot of their dessertsβ always delicious and amazing customer service, even when they are super busy. The seasonal soft serves are always incredible. Overall you can tell the ownership here cares about what they do.

Cute little shop, friendly employees, with indoor and outdoor seating. The combo drinks aren't that impressive, and a bit pricey. The soft serve is absolutely delicious, and you can tell that their Matcha is of a higher quality, but one thing. Portion. I have had Matcha Soft Serve cones in over 30 merchants, all over the world, and the portion size here is the smallest I've ever received. If you want to get a drink, just stick to Matcha, and matcha alone. Hopefully, management, or ownership sees this and does something about the portion size, because as you can see in the photo, it's like a kiddie size. Overall rating. 4.5.

Matcha Maiko is hands down our new favorite dessert place. Their soft serve is perfectly balanced and just the right amount of sweetness, plus the matcha powder sprinkled on top added the perfect subtle bitterness. Also, who knew red beans/mochi/corn flakes would be so good with soft serve?? Reviews that ding the location just for being small unfairly represent the high quality of their desserts here. The workers were so friendly too even though there were so many people! 12/10 recommend this place and we cannot wait to be back!!

Itβs incredibly frustrating when people leave poor reviews simply because a spot is busy or small, rather than focusing on the actual quality of whatβs being served...honestly, people need to realize how much these unfair ratings can hurt a small business' livelihood. Coming from New York, I know firsthand that New Yorkers understand the value of backing local shops, especially when the product is outstanding, and we know better than to tank a rating over long lines or limited seating. Cafe Maiko completely deserves five stars because the quality here speaks for itself...the matcha is yummy, and we just tried the mango sticky rice, which is so good that it's worth any wait. Instead of leaving petty complaints, we should be celebrating and supporting great local gems like this...thanks for the amazing desserts guys, and keep up the fantastic work! ππ₯π΅
